Frequently Asked Questions

About Mobaito.com

Q. Does it cost anything to register?

Registration is free. It takes about 40 minutes. We just explain the process from filling out the forms (ours and the government’s) to starting work.

Make sure you bring the following:

    1. Picture ID/Driver’s License* (or non-driver photo ID) or US Passport* (*Not Expired )
    2. Social Security Card
    3. Resume

Employers are required by law to check the IDs of potential employees. One of the above picture IDs is necessary to fill out Form I-9. Because Social Security cards are only issued to citizens and others who are permitted to work, they are also required to check work eligibility. We require a resume to help place you in the right jobs.

Q. I don’t have any experience with temp work that involves registering. Will I have any problems?

You don’t have to worry; you won’t have problems. We welcome you even if you don’t have experience. We’ll find work that fits you.

Q. I don’t want to start work right away. Can I still go ahead and register?

Yes. After you register, we’ll find you work after you tell us when you are available.

Q. Can I attend with my friend and register together?

Yes, you can. However, register only one person at a time if you do it through Mobaito.com.

Using Mobaito.com

Q. How can I get help if I have trouble using Mobaito.com?

Call 212-764-1900 weekdays between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. (Applications will then be taken over the phone.)
Or send an e-mail to gwa-ny@goodwill.com.

Work

Q. How soon can I start working after I register? Does my registration expire?

You can start work as soon as you are registered. Registration does not expire.

Q. Can I pick my jobs? Is there long-term work?

After registering, let us know what kind of work you would like to do when checking for work on the phone.

If we don’t have a job that suits your needs, we will tell you what jobs we have available, and ask if you would like to take one. If what we have available simply won’t work for you, it’s OK for you to say no. Also, we have lots of long-term positions (regular work). After you register, ask the branch staff for more details.

Q. What happens if I report to work late?

Trains may run late, or buses may get stuck in heavy traffic. You never know what will happen during your commute, so make sure you always leave 15 minutes early for your work assignments. If you think you will be late, contact your branch as soon as you can.

Q. What if something suddenly comes up and I can’t report to work?

Contact your branch as soon as you know that you can’t report to work. An unauthorized absence is grounds for canceling your registration.

Wages

Q. How do I get paid?

We pay you between 1 and 5 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you can get back to your branch before we close, we can pay you the same day you work. For more information, contact your branch.

Q. Can I get paid for several jobs all at once?

Of course.
